Papertrey Beach Teacher Card

I struggled with what to make for teacher cards for several weeks. I contemplated several school-themed sets, but when I saw the new Papertrey Ink Day at the Beach set I knew it would be perfect. We live near the beach, and I know how much the teachers look forward to summer. The sentiments in this set are just perfect. This card is one of many I've been working on for teachers. This particular one will be given to a music teacher.

The flip flips and paper choice (Cosmo Cricket Snorkel) were inspired by Debbie Olson. Thanks Debbie! :) The inks were simply sponged onto the white rectangle.

Thanks for looking.

Star Wars Weekends 2009

(Two posts today, please make sure you check them both out!)

Star Wars Weekends really are the best, IMO. I always have the most fun when I'm there, and ALWAYS look forward to next year. However, next year I won't forget my camera, and I am planning to get a Flip so I can take some video. One of our favorite events happens at the end of the day, the Hyperspace Hoopla show. OMG, so funny. I didn't take this video, but I'm so glad someone did and uploaded it to Youtube.

I also got this really cute pin: And I wanted to get this one:

HOUSE OF 3 TEACHER CARDS

Monday begins the first day of the last week of Kindergarten. (tear). I've been making a ton of teacher thank you cards and gifts the past few weeks, which I'll show more of next week. I'll be glad next year when the oldest has graduated, that's one less set of cards I have to make. I really don't mind, but it's turned into a really big deal. Teacher card-giving has turned into a three-times a year event now with Teacher's Appreciation week, and even though I know most parents aren't recognizing all three (Christmas, Appreciation week, and end-of-year), I feel guilty for not sending something in.

I was tapped to make a class card that all the kids would sign. I ended up doing most of it in Adobe Photoshop, and printing the final card on Papertrey Ink cardstock. I used the Hello Teacher digital kit from houseof3.com, and arranged the images of the children to represent my daughter's class. I adjusted skin and hair tones in Photoshop, and I think the final result came out pretty cute. I'm going to use some of the other elements to make some little treat bags for the office and library staff.

Papertrey Ink Guidelines II

For my birthday a couple months ago I received a Papertrey gift certificate. I finally used it this month to get some new stamp sets and to restock my paper stash a little. I've been out of white cardstock for a while if you can believe it!

The background was stamped using Guidelines II, a fun and versatile set. The colors are summer sunrise, berry sorbet and palette landscape green.

Thanks for looking!

Hero Arts Graduation Owl Card

Hello all! I am happy to report that I have been busy studying for the bar exam, which takes place at the end of July. I also had a job interview last week so cross your fingers for that! And finally, some crafty-mojo has been creeping my way again. I'm starting to find a balance between everything happening in my life, which makes finding time to be crafty is a little easier.

This is a sweet card I made for a girl we know who is graduating high school. I used my new Hero Arts stamps, the cloud stamp is S5215, and the owl is from a ClearDesign set, CL336. I sponged some green ink (I think it's Landscape Palette ink) over the bottom of the clouds, and layered the owl over it. The cloud was inked up with Versafine Seafoam. The owl is colored with Prismacolor pencils.
